Rental benefits are a financial contribution from the Dutch government, so that Dutch citizens can pay a rental home. These benefits are intended for people with a lower income, so it does not apply to everyone.
You are entitled to rent benefits if you are:
- Dutch or European or Type I, II or III residence permit
- 18 years or older
- Registered at the municipality where you are going to rent
- Have a rental agreement
- Rent an independent living space: - Private living room and bedroom - Own kitchen with sink, supply/drainage for water and a connection point for cooking appliances. - Own toilet with water flush
- Your gross taxable income may not exceed €22,400 per year.
- The rental price (basic rent including service costs) may not exceed the following: - Less than 23 years old: €225.08 - €417.34. - Older than 23 years: €225.08 - €710.68.
- The service costs may not exceed €12, -. These consist of: - Energy costs for public spaces (not own living space) - Cleaning costs for common rooms - Master costs - Capital and maintenance costs
